Delhi talks on Krishna projects end without solution

Thu, Jun 23, 2016, 12:29 PM
The talks between the Telugu States on the irrigation projects taken up by the Telangana government on the Krishna on Thursday reached a peak of differences. A vexed Central Irrigation Secretary, Amarjit Singh, suggested status quo in the Krishna river for 4 months.

This was immediately assented by Telangana Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao, but his AP counterpart, Devineni Uma, said nothing doing.

Emerging from the talks initiated by Union Irrigation Ministry, Harish Rao trained his guns on Devineni Uma's attitude, which he described as stubborn.

Harish Rao said Devineni's was a stubborn attitude. He was angry that AP did not heed the call for status quo for 4 months on the Krishna river.

Thus the talks ended on Thursday without any solution.
