CS directs officials to remain alert against spread of diseases

Telangana Chief Secretary, Dr Rajiv Sharma, has directed the health officials to be extra-cautious on the possible spread of seasonal and viral diseases as the Monsoon season has just begun.

At a high-level review meeting at Secretariat on Tuesday, the Chief Secretary asked the officials of the health wing to take all precautionary measures to ensure that no viral or other diseases would spread.

Dr Sharma emphasized focus on drinking water, sanitation, clean drive and fogging operations during the early hours on a regular basis as well as upkeep of roads and main thoroughfares.

Drinking water should be supplied to the people on time and avoid an possible contamination that will cost them dear, he warned.

The officials of the Health department should remain alert and take all measures to prevent the spread of contagious or other diseases, he said. Stocking of adequate number of medicines and injections is a must and officials should press staff to attend to patients at all health centers, dispensaries and all hospitals in the twin cities and districts.

He also asked the officials in the districts to concentrate on villages and towns to see that sanitation drive is taken up on a regular basis and drinking water is supplied on time.
