Vizag IT receives setback as 300 engineers are left in lurch

Sat, Jun 18, 2016, 11:00 AM
The IT sector development in Vizag received a big setback with the closure of an IT company that started big but ended throwing 300 software engineers on the road.

The IT company, Exalt India Private Ltd., located on Hill 2 in the IT Park had with a lot of fanfare appointed some 300 engineers, promising them high salaries. But, initially, the engineers were to be trained for 6 months, during which they would be paid minimum wages. The proprietor, Kiran Kumar, took huge deposits from them.

After the engineers joined paying huge deposits, no minimum wages were paid. At a time when the training was to be completed, Kiran closed the shop and disappeared, leaving 300 engineers in the lurch.

The engineers, who realised the fraud, registered a case with the PM Palem police. The police have taken up the case and are investigating.
