BJP leaders more keen on Sangam than party executive

Mon, Jun 13, 2016, 04:12 PM
The National Executive meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Allahabad has become more a religious ritual than a political meeting.

Almost all the top BJP leaders offered prayers and had a dip in the holy Sangam in the Ganga.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to the renovated Chandrasekhar Azad Park in Allahabad and paid tributes to the freedom fighter.

The BJP leaders made a beeline to the Sangam for offering prayers or offering holy waters to their ancestors.

They included Union Law Minister Sadananda Gowda, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, Haryana chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar and Gujarat Education Minister Nitin Patel.

At a media meeting, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari claimed the 2-year BJP-led government had changed the face of the country despite adversities and by its integrated appraoch.
