Banking boom in Amaravati, loans are for the asking

Sat, Jun 04, 2016, 03:57 PM
There is a banking boom in the new Andhra capital of Amaravati. While the number of bank branches in the area grew from three to 30, the people in the area, who have been privileged with compensation and so on, are getting loans for the asking. Gold, vehicle and foreign education loans are being cleared immediately.

Bank branches are mushrooming in the Capital. One-and-a-half years ago, there were just two baks in the Tullur area, now there are 15 bank branches.

Once upon a time, a sleepy village Tullur is today surfeit of banks.

Transactions with the people getting money as compensation etc have increased manifold. Recognising the fact, banks have mushroomed in the area.

At Tullur, the banks which have branches are Indian Overseas Bank, SBI, Coastal Bank, Andhra Bank, Vijaya Bank, Chaitanya Godavari Gramena Bank, SBH, Central Bank of India, Syndicate Bank, Canara Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, South Indian bank, city Union Bank, Oriental bank of Commerce, HDFC and ICICI.

Chaitanya Godavari Bank has spread out to Panamaka, Undavalli, Rayapudi, Dondapadu and Anantavaram.

As the State Secretariat is coming up at Velgapudi, all the banks will have branches there also.
