The DMK has demanded an inquiry into the the three container loads of money spotted at Tiruvur in the run-up to the elections to the Tamil Nadu assembly. The money was worth Rs. 570 crore.

DMK leader T.S. Elangovan has written letters to many Central leaders in this regard. They include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, RBI governor Raghuram Rajan, Chief Election Commissioner Naseem Zaidi, CBI Chief and so on.

The container loads of money found at Tiruvur on April 14 was diverted to the district collectorate. It was kept under protection from May 14 to 17. The drivers have been identified as belonging to AP and in civil dress.

Elangovan alleged that papers were created to show that the money belonged to SBI in AP and the money was subsequently sent to SBI in Coimbatore.

Elangovan demanded in his letters that an inquiry should be started on the whole affair and that truth should come out in the deal.
