'Vemulawada temple to turn into great meditation centre'

Hyderabad, May 25: Endowment Minister A Indrakaran Reddy today took the blessings of Sringeri Sharada Peetham pontiff Bharathi Teerthananda Swamy in Karnataka and performed special pujas to presiding deity Sharadamba at Rushya Sringeri temple and sought blessings for better rains and golden harvest in Telangana.

The Minister was planning to conduct “Shatha Chandi Yagam” at his Nirmal house in Adilabad district sometime later and urged the pontiff to bless the occasion. Indrakaran Reddy informed the seer that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was according top priority to develop the temples in the States. The seer appreciated the efforts of KCR for the spread of culture and traditions through the development of temples in the State as no other state in the country was doing so.

Indrakaran also said a master plan will be submitted to the Seer for approval to take up Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple development at Vemulawada in Karimnagar. On seer’s approval, the plan will be implemented to transform the temple into a great meditation centre by spending Rs 100 crore, he said. Reddy also said pujas for peace conducted after the cleansing of Saraswathi temple at Basara in Adilabad that came under thunderstorm and lightening, a release said.
