Antony projects BJP as communal to save Congress

Tue, May 03, 2016, 04:50 PM
Former Chief Minister AK Antony was going hammer and tongs at the BJP in his election campaign in North Kerala on Tuesday, while the party was yet to open its account in the State Assembly.

Observers attributed Antony's vehemence was against the BJP acquiring the moral high ground following the series of scams in the UPA regime and the latest AgustaWestland deal in which, among others, the former Defence Minister also figures prominently along with Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi.

Antony is warning the people that if they voted for the BJP, then it would be the deluge. Quoting Vivekananda, he said there won't be peace in the State.

The BJP, on its part, said it would take up the matter with the Election Commission. Besides, it was yet to make an entry in the Kerala assembly.

Antony was raising communal passions in the Syrian Christian and Muslim-dominated districts, BJP added.
