Arvind Kejriwal queries Modi's BA & MA details

Sat, Apr 30, 2016, 05:20 PM
Educational qualifications of top politicians are being dug up, ever since the controversy over the claims of Union Human Resources Minister Smriti Irani, who was said to be `not even a graduate,' and former Law Minister of AAP Jitender Singh Tomar, with alleged fake degree.

Now Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is questioning the degree claims of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BA from Delhi University and MA from Gujarat University.

The Kejriwal's question has been taken up as an RTI query and the Information Commission has been asked to give a response.

The PMO has been asked for details like his roll numbers so info can be dug up about his degrees for Kejriwal.

To an RTI query on Modi's degrees earlier this month, the Delhi University authorities said they did not have info, but if details like roll number were given, they would be able to track down the necessary details.

In the continuing `tutu-mymy' with the Prime Minister, Kejriwal wrote to the commission: `You want everything about me out in the public domain, to which I have no objections. But I am amazed that you want to hide information on Narendra Modi's degree. It raises the suspicion of people -- Is the commission really impartial?' Kejriwal queried.
