Dhoni shows profligacy in home swimming pool

Sat, Apr 23, 2016, 03:22 PM
Cricket at the top level is an anti-people sport, raising their passions on the one hand and depleting the natural resources such as water on the other. The IPL wants cricket matches to be staged in water-starved Maharashtra cricket grounds, oblivious of the worst drought in a century faced by the people who could use the recycled water for at least raising fodder.

When IPL wants the game to go on regardless, Team India cricket captain Mahendra singh Dhoni is not far behind the cricketing authorities where water is concerned. He wants his home swimming pool in Ranchi to be supplied 15,000 litres per day, unmindful of the drought emaciating Jharkhand as a whole.

Say it again, Captain cool! Cricket India calls Dhoni as such because of the water consumption in his home.

The local media is crying horror but the popular cricket captain is unaware of the water woes of the people.

At least Sachin Tendulkar was moved by the woes of Maharashtra when he came out with a blueprint to mitigate the sufferings of the people of Marathwada. It's a different story that he has Pepsico prompt for the project. Pepsico may or may not have altruistic ideas by the blueprint, but it will make a killng with its beverage in the worst summer.
