Captain Dhoni quits as brand ambassador for Amrapali builders

Sat, Apr 16, 2016, 10:39 AM
Indian cricket Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has quit as brand ambassador of Amrapali housing project in Noida following a plea by the residents that he dissociate himself from the titular position because the builders were not delivering on the promises they had made to those who had booked flats.

Company chiarman and managing director Anil Sharma told newsmen that Dhoni was no longer their ambassador and they did not want his fair name to be misused in any manner. `The decision was mutual between Dhoni and us,' he added.

Residents of Amrapali's Sapphire project in Noida had used twitter to air their complaints about the non-completion of works and urging Dhoni to dissociate himself from the project with which he was associated for the past 6 to 7 years.

Dhoni assured them that he would speak to the builders in this regard. He told them that they should deliver on their promises. At the same time, the builders told those who had booked flats that they would complete all the pending projects in the next 3 months.
