Kiwis put up 145/8 against Bangla Tigers

Sat, Mar 26, 2016, 04:53 PM
Safe in the knowledge that they are through to the semifinals of the WT20 world Cup, New Zealand seemed to have taken it rather easy while putting up a small score of 145/8 to Bangladesh at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Satruday.

The match is not of much significance to either of the teams, unless of course New Zealand scores the 146 in Macullum fashion. Fielding three spinners, New Zealand would give the Bangla tigers the run for their money when the Mortaja team comes in to bat.

The second spot in the Group 2 is being fought fiercely by India, Australia and Bangladesh. New Zealand is already through to semis like the West Indies from the other group.

The second spot will be determined on Sunday after the Australia-India match. The Aussies are automatically in, going by their better run rate. But if India could beat Australia by a big margin, they will be in. First, they should beat the resurgent Australia at Mohali.
