Retirement? Not even after 5 years, says Nagarjuna

While the acting life is getting lowered over the generations, there is no question of early retirement, Tollywood Star Nagarjuna has said.

Nagarjuna pointed out that even when they were above 6o years old, both NT Rama Rao and A. Nageshwar Rao were accepted by the film fans for college student roles and behind-the-bush singing duets.

Later, Krishna and Shobhan Babu acted well into the 50s, and they were also accepted by the film fans.

At that rate, Nagarjuna thought he would have to retire early and had said he would be retiring after 5 years. But now he thought otherwise.

If the story was good and if you are smart enough not to get caught in the image trap, you could go on acting. Therefore, there was no question of his quitting films.

Speaking on the occasion of promotion of `Upiri', Nagarjuna said the film made a deep impression on him. Based on the French film, `The Untouchables', he said the CD of the original film was given to him by Director Vamsi Paidipalli.

Nagarjuna told him that he would act in the film, but the film had to be given a thorough Telugu nativity. After the changes were made, he was pleasantly surprised that the Nativity changes were brilliantly done.

He was sure the Telugu audience would be delighted by the film.
