Peshawar blast kills 15 Govt employees

A bomb ripped through a bus carrying government servants in Peshawar city in north-western Pakistan, killing 15 employees and injuring some 30 others.

The blast was so powerful that the stationary bus was hurled 30 to 40 ft into the air, killing the victims instantaneously. The blast occurred on Masjid road of Peshawar, as the bus carrying the employees from Charsadda to the city stopped there.

The injured have been transfered to Lady Reading and Cantonment hospitals there.

An Improvised explosive device is stated to have been placed under a seat in the bus. Pakistan Taliban elements are believed to be responsible for the blast.

Pakistan Taliban were hithereto termed `good terrorists' by Pak government agencies. Now they are likely to be branded bad because of the blast.
