Small makers have to spend for film shows, Dasari regrets

Telugu film industry crisis man and famous film-maker, Dasari Narayan Rao, has regretted that no more Tollywood films could be made without leading stars, eliminating new talent.

At present, the distributors and exhibitors were no more coming forward to give advances to small film-makers. On the contrary, the distributors were asking for huge payments to exhibit their films. As a result, small film producers on their own were trying to find cinemas to relesse their films.

He was speaking at the release of `Eluka Majaaka' made by Relangi Narasimha Rao starring Brahanandam and `Vennela` Kishore. The film's producers are Marella Narasimharao and Vaddempudi Srinivasarao.

`Darsakaratna' Dasari said that in the interests of the small producers there had to be five shows instead of the present four daily. The 1 pm show in any case should be allotted to small film-makers for their titles.

He revealed on the occasion that the government had agreed to exempt the small producer's films from the entertainment tax.

About the film, Dasari said Relangi's film is as good as his own. The film is about a hero who does not care for Vighneshwara and the travails he has to go through following mouse god's wrath. It is a family drama and an entertainer for children.

Director Relangi said the film contained graphics for 40 minutes.
