Aamir pleads Dekho `Dangal,' boycott, say netizens

Tue, Jan 26, 2016, 10:43 AM
Even as Bollywood film-maker Aamir Khan has invited the people to see his new film, `Dangal,' the people in general are not likely to be taken in by his sweet talk after his intemperate domestic remark of `Let's leave India and go for a safer place.'

It's `Dangal' (arena) all right. The people want it to be as such, inasmuch as Aamir Khan wishes it to be.

On Monday, Aamir Khan told the media, `I was born here and I will die here.' But the people apparently are not at all impressed. The netizens say Aamir is doing so for the success of his new film. So, therefore, the people are saying `Let it be "Dangal."'

Aamir, known as Mr Perfectionist in Bollywood, has professional woes because he makes films that are escapist. When he makes a reality check from an escapist perspective, the people are themselves more confused than Aamir is.

Aamir has had best of both the worlds. He has been made brand ambassador of Brand India. So for him to stoop to intolerance is a shock for the film-goers, fed as they are on escapism of Bollywood. If Bollywood tries to pretend to be new cinema, then it will have to taste the reality. So Aamir faces the reality check. `Dangal' it is for sure.
