Wed, Jul 29, 2015, 04:45 PM
Hyderabad, July 29: "Are you suffering with knee pains? Take our injections. Within a few hours, your pain will vanish." These ads are so attractive that people become scapegoats to them.

Indian Medical Association (IMA) requested the public not to believe these ads. IMA Khammam district branch revealed that a voluntary organistaion in Khammam has been injecting steroids to patients in the name of knee-pain treatment.

The fake injections for knee pain has been going on in a hospital run by a voluntary organisation in Peddakurapalli village of Kallur mandal. The doctors in this hospital has been administering 'Hydro cartisam' injection freely, which otherwise should be given only in emergency situation, that too under the supervision of orthopedic surgeon.

It came to the knowledge of the authorities that hundreds of patients from Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Nalgonda, West Godavari and other districts already took these injections.

IMA representatives went to the hospital on Wednesday and explained to the patients that this injection will only temporarily relieve them of the pain. But it has a long-time ill-effect.
